It’s worth getting orthodontic treatment early
Orthodontic treatment during childhood is often more effective and can be carried out using “milder” methods than treatment in adulthood, because teeth and jaws can be guided in the right direction while they are still growing. Although taking growth into account requires the expertise of a specialist dentist, this is often more cost-effective than treatment performed in adulthood, and it can prevent a wide range of dental problems, such as tooth wear and decay, as well as overbite and underbite.
The public sector treats only the most severe bite problems, and even those who are eligible for treatment may have to wait years for an appointment. As a result, opportunities for more effective preventive care may be missed.

The most advanced orthodontic methods, for all stages of growth
In the first phase of orthodontic treatment, only removable appliances worn at night, such as the Finnish-made LM Activator, can be used .
There are many options available for second-phase orthodontic treatment, ranging from nearly invisible aligners to modern braces and custom-made removable appliances.
Competence and experience matter
In the end, however, tools are just tools. The experience of the orthodontist performing the treatment is of great importance. Expertise is particularly important in orthodontic treatment for children and adolescents, where the dentist must be able to anticipate future jaw growth and take it into account when planning treatment in order to avoid complications and ensure that the treatment outcome also meets the needs of adulthood.
