Procedures include, among other things, the demanding surgical removal of unerupted wisdom teeth, the placement of implants, or artificial roots, in the jawbone, surgical cleaning of the inflamed root tip, removal of gingival overgrowths, and treatment of accidents. The field also includes the treatment of oral diseases, such as mucosal diseases.
