If you have a headache, your neck and jaw muscles feel tight in the morning, or your teeth are worn down, teeth grinding may be the cause. A custom-made mouthguard helps relax the jaw muscles and protects your teeth from wear caused by grinding during sleep. The treatment includes everything: the first visit to take impressions of your teeth, the fabrication of the mouthguard based on those measurements, fitting, and instructions.

There are other treatment options for bruxism—that is, unconscious teeth grinding or clenching of the jaw muscles.

If you haven’t had a dental checkup in a year, you should start by scheduling an appointment. During the checkup, your dental care needs can be assessed comprehensively. If you’ve had a checkup recently, we’ll start your bite splint treatment with a 30-minute visit to the dentist, during which we’ll take impressions for the bite splint. The bite splint will be ready to be fitted in your mouth in about two weeks.
