“In practice, immediate implantation means that the patient arrives at the clinic with their own tooth and leaves about an hour later with an implant and a temporary crown. So there is no period of time without a tooth at all.” – Ville Männistö, Specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Tooth loss is rarely a small matter. A missing tooth is not just an aesthetic nuisance, but sooner or later it starts to affect your bite. A missing tooth can be replaced with an implant, for example.
In implant treatment, a titanium, screw-shaped artificial root is placed in the jawbone and the visible part of the tooth, the crown, is attached to it. If well cared for, the implant will last for decades, often for the rest of the wearer's life.

Immediate implantation reduces the duration of implant treatment, reduces the number of surgical procedures and improves aesthetics. In immediate implant treatment, the artificial root and temporary crown are placed in the extraction well immediately after tooth extraction, during a single visit.
After the first treatment, the implant screws are given a few months to ossify, after which a permanent, usually ceramic, dental crown can be attached to the implant. The curing period is the same as for traditional implant treatment.
When implantation is performed immediately, treatment is faster than usual and the results are often more aesthetic than usual.

Before starting implant treatment, a clinical examination of the mouth is carried out by a specialist dentist, supplemented by X-rays. A thorough examination provides guidelines for the treatment. The treatment can be carried out in a healthy and non-infected mouth.
“The ideal candidate for dental implants—including immediate implants—is a patient who does not smoke, takes good care of their oral hygiene, visits the dentist regularly, and has sufficient remaining bone for the implant.” – Ville Männistö, Specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
Prices for dental implants start at 2600 €: In the case of an immediate implant, where the tooth is extracted during the same visit, a temporary crown is also billed, as well as cost of a tooth extraction, which depends on the difficulty of removal (119 €–522 € (after Kela reimbursement). Additional procedures, such as bone grafts, increase the cost of implant treatment. You will receive pricing information for your specific implant treatment during your implant consultation.
Costs are discussed in advance in a free consultation. There are no financial surprises for the client during the treatment process. We also offer an instalment plan, which gives you one year interest-free payment.
If you are considering implant treatment, it is a good idea to start with a consultation. During the consultation, your dentist will assess your oral health and the suitability of implant placement. A preliminary treatment plan will also be drawn up during the consultation. The duration and extent of the treatment and an estimate of the cost of the treatment will be determined at the same time. The implant consultation with oral and maxillofacial surgeon Ville Männistö is free of charge and is not binding on the patient. Immediate implantation is Ville's area of expertise. Consultations with other specialist dentists are subject to a fee.
After the consultation, the patient can make an informed decision to start or postpone treatment.
